CTE Programs at Sprague
CTE Programs Offered at Sprague
Students study automotive systems, including engines, brakes, electrical, suspension, steering and transmissions. ASE certification and college credit are available.
CTE Automotive Technology Program
- Work on foreign and domestic cars, trucks, and hybrid vehicles in a high-tech precision industry.
- Use the same advanced diagnostic and repair equipment as industry professionals to troubleshoot complex automotive systems.
- Maintain, repair, and fine-tune a wide range of vehicle engines alongside an ASE Master Technician.

The program addresses all major media production topics including video composition, operation of video camera systems, lighting techniques and equipment, audio equipment, directing and editing principles, post-production and visual effects.
CTE Media ProductionProgram
- Showcase creative and artistic talents using professional equipment and media to exceed client expectations
- Develop, produce, and deliver unique video and audio projects for social media and commercial broadcast from concept to completion
- Work individually and in teams to create cinematic film, engaging documentary, and viral video

Students learn treatment techniques to promote healthy movement, reduce pain, restore function and prevent injuries in a state-of-the-art lab. Advanced students may apply for a practicum experience.
CTE Sports Medicine Program
- Create customized exercise and therapeutic plans to help athletes achieve superior performance and lifelong wellness
- Work with certified athletic trainers as well as fitness and healthcare professionals to assist with injury prevention and rehabilitation
- Coach and motivate patients using the same advanced exercise equipment
and techniques as fitness, wellness, and rehabilitation centers nationwide

CTE Programs in High Schools
Salem-Keizer Public Schools is proud to offer 50 state-approved CTE programs and four startup programs. Sixteen of these programs offer industry certification, opening the door for students to transfer into a community college, apprenticeship program or directly into a career.

Career & Technical Education Center (CTEC)
A separate location from other Salem-Keizer high schools, CTEC is a hub for area junior and senior students enrolled in CTEC programs. The state-of-the-art facility is a public-private partnership between Salem-Keizer Public Schools and area business leaders.
CTEC provides students the opportunity to:
- Earn college-level credits
- Earn industry-specific certifications and licenses
- Internships and apprenticeships
- Mentor programs and job shadows
- Receive online training
- Access career services including career fair, resume assistance, mock interviews, and portfolio development
How do I attend both CTEC and my regular high school classes?
- Free transportation is provided to students who are bused from their home high school to spend 2.5 days a week on the CTEC campus.
- CTEC students are still enrolled at their home school. You can participate in extracurricular activities and clubs and will receive your diploma from your high school.
- CTEC's cafeteria runs on the same meal plans and lunch programs as other high schools.
