Salem-Keizer Board of Directors Elect New Board Leadership

During its regularly scheduled meeting on July 23, 2024, the Salem-Keizer Public Schools Board of Directors swore in one of two student advisors to the school board and elected new board leadership.
Cynthia Richardson was elected as the new board chairperson, Karina Guzmán Ortiz was elected as the new
board first vice chairperson and Lisa Harnisch was elected as the new board second vice chairperson. All three
positions can be held for up to two years.

Cynthia Richardson has served as a director on the school board since 2023 and represents Zone 2.
Karina Guzmán Ortiz has served as a director on the school board since 2021 and represents Zone 5.
Lisa Harnisch has served as a director on the school board since 2024 and represents Zone 1.
